WHAT IS A CLIENT CONSULTATION?

I welcome all of my perspective clients to come into the studio, meet me, see product and ask in person questions before booking their sessions. This is part of the building of a relationship of trust with my clients. I want you to come into your newborn session knowing a little about the person who will be caring for your precious baby. It is also important that you see for yourself what I do, the product I offer, and know the location of the studio ahead of time. All of this will help reduce any stress you may have had otherwise when arriving for your session.

WHAT IS AN ORDERING SESSION?

Ordering sessions are super fun! We spend an hour or two together while I present your images through a gorgeous video presentation to music. This presentation will be yours to keep after the session and is delivered on your USB with your product order. We then go through every image and select your favorites; the ones you will likely select for your canvases, cards and products. I guide you through this process and allow you ample time to make selections. Orders do not have to be placed at this time, however additional ordering sessions are $100, and your first ordering session includes a 10% discount on all additional products.

HOW IS PAYMENT SCHEDULED?

To book a session or an event, a retainer is required. A retainer, also called a creative fee, is a fee paid in advance along with a signed client agreement form in order to secure professional services.  This retainer is a non refundable payment that secures your session date and my services. Weddings and events must pay 40% of the total package at the time of booking, as well as a signed contract for service, as a retainer. Again, this is non refundable and guarantees coverage of your event, my time and services. The remained of your payment is due at your ordering session. Ordering session are scheduled within 2-4 weeks from your session/event.

TO BINKY OR NOT TO BINKY?

New parents, a binky (aka pacifier) is not only highly recommended, it is a necessity. I can not and will not guarantee the quality or quantity of images without parents providing this item. You will not disrupt their ability to nurse or ruin their desire for your milk by using a pacifier during your session. Trust me. This is a session saver and is one of my primary methods of soothing your baby.

WHAT IF OUR BABY IS ILL?

Babies may not feel well for a multitude of reasons. If your infant is abnormally fussy or obviously ill, please call me immediately and reschedule. A sick baby is not going to do well through a photo shoot. In an attempt to head off gassy and fussiness I do provide my clients with a list of foods and drinks to avoid in the days and hours before your session. If you baby is ill, running a fever or not eating, please get medical help asap.

WHAT IF THE PHOTOGRAPHER IS ILL?

If I am ill with any minor ailment, I will notify parents and let them choose whether or not they want to reschedule. However, if I have a serious ailment, to include fever or flu, I will reschedule regardless. Your baby’s safety is my top priority and I won’t jeopardize their health by exposing them to serious illnesses. When healthy, I also take extra precautions throughout my session by washing my hands regularly and using hand sanitizer.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?

As soon as possible. In the case of newborn sessions, I will set you up for your due date and once the baby arrives, contact me and I’ll put a more definite date on the calendar.

WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD?

Newborn session are typically held in my home photo studio in Tualatin, Oregon. My studio has a comfy area for moms and dads to relax in, changing table and necessary baby changing supplies, and ample room to move about and get up close to see the magic happen. I do offer in home sessions for families who can not leave their home for medical or religious reasons. There is an addition $50 fee for in home sessions.

WHAT IF BABY IS LATE/EARLY?

Babies arrive on their own time line a lot of times and as a newborn photographer I plan for that. Please don’t worry. I highly encourage my clients to stay in contact with me throughout the end of their pregnancy and to call/email/text when things are happening. For example, if you should go into for a procedure that may induce labor, give me a heads up so I can plan for a possible early arrival. I will do everything in my power to get you scheduled within the first two weeks after birth and you will never be turned away regardless.

WHO PROVIDES THE PROPS & CLOTHING?

All props and clothing are provided as part of your session fees. You are welcome to bring in special items that you want included in your session, but please bare in mind that they might not always photograph well. This is especially true with newborn props. Most “newborn” items purchased run big, unlike my props which are made specifically for a baby that is truly “new-born”. I will always let you know if I believe a prop isn’t going to work and why.

HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST?

Newborn sessions can last between 2 – 4 1/2 hours. It depends on each baby, how sleepy they are, how many siblings I am photographing, how cooperative they are and so on.  Other sessions typically last about 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Please plan accordingly. I do not preform well under stress due to time constraints. I highly recommend that clients do not schedule anything near or even on the same day as their session. The worst thing I can hear upon greeting my clients on the day of their session is, “We need to be done by X o’clock for another appointment/football game/family gathering”.

DO YOU ONLY PHOTOGRAPH NEWBORNS?

No, though newborns are obviously my primary subjects. I welcome all clients so long as I have time. I especially love photography high school seniors and couples. Please contact me for more details on my other services.

HOW IS MY FINAL PRODUCT DELIVERED?

Please take a moment to “like” my Facebook page as I will post a couple sneak-peaks on my business page for your enjoyment within a couple days of your session. Your digital files will be on a custom USB with a print release so that you have rights to print your files again at your lab of choice. All other products will be packaged and ready for pickup within 2-4 weeks from your sales session (unless otherwise noted).  Delivery can be arranged for an addition $25 within a 15 mile radius of my studio.

CAN YOU UPLOAD GALLERY TO ONLINE GALLERY FOR DOWNLOAD?

From time to time I get asked about this and the answer is almost always “no”, with the exception of a few cultural and religious practices that may require an image, which I will help facilitate delivery of the necessary images for that. There are many reasons for not providing online galleries. The two primary reasons are time and cost. Galleries are not free; I have to pay for that service. It also adds to the overall time of production for your order. All digital files are placed on your custom USB and packaged with your order. Digital files are ready when all of your print product items have arrived and have been prepped for pickup. This usually takes 2-3 weeks after your order has been finalized.
